Is the rear bumper of the CX-5 a single piece (i.e. is the textured black cladding inseparable from the painted blue bumper)?
Someone backed into our parked CX-5 and didn't leave a note or anything - what a wonderful way to start a Monday morning. A part of their vehicle (probably a trailer hitch) punched a 2.5" x 2.5" hole in the textured black portion of the rear bumper (circled in red).
I'm wondering if it's worth going through my insurance and paying the $750 deductible. I found the following image that indicates that it may all be one expensive piece (that will need paint) that would cost way more than my deductible to replace. BUT, if the the black textured part can be replaced separately and doesn't need paint then I may do it myself for less than the deductible. Any guidance/advice?
EDIT: here is the actual damage

Usually, (and Im not an expert here so don't trust me) there are clips in the black plastic piece that snap into the colored portion of the bumper.
My dads 2012 S60 was backed into in a parking lot as well. They had a long exhaust pipe which punched a hole in the black piece. He was able to order just that piece and pop it in
Im assuming the Mazda is similar in that it just snaps in there.

That's what I'm hoping. I haven't had a change to look closely at it. The bumper on my MKV GTI was like that as well. You could under a few screws in the rear wheel wells and then carefully pull the black plastic rear bumper off.

One question I have is do you have rear parking sensors in the bumper?
It could make it more annoying then you think

Luckily I don't. Back up camera lens is above the license plate.

Darn, that does look like one piece. Guess I may have to call up Allstate and have a fun chat with them
